The perch are bitin'

Last time I checked in, I asked whether the perch catch was slow to come in.
It’s not now.
Almost every fisherman (and fisherwoman) I’ve spoken with has reported amazing perch catches across the region’s waterways — some of the best in years. They are all catching their limit daily.
One buddy said that as of Monday night he and and his family had caught 1,080 perch so far this year. They caught about 900 in all of 2007. Size has been good, too.
Conversely, the walleye catch hasn’t been as strong.
