Steelhead report Oct. 9

Steelhead are making their way into Elk Creek. The tributary is low and clear but has a great run of fish stretching past Interstate 90. Many fish have found holes, but expected rain and south wind today should help. Standard baits such as spinners, spoons, rooster tails, single eggs and maggots have drawn good-sized fish.

Walnut Creek is also producing. Cleo's, single eggs, minnows and flies seem to be the baits of choice.
