Area officers from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will conduct a safe boating class Dec. 2-4 from 6-10 p.m. each day at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
The comprehensive class is designed for the novice boater, as well as the experienced boater who would like to refresh his or her knowledge. It is especially recommended for new boaters and their families. The class covers basic boating safety, boating laws and regulations, and equipment.
Successful completion of the course qualifies the individual for a Pennsylvania boating education safety certificate. There is no charge for the course or materials, although registration is required.
For information or to register, call Keith Edwards at (814) 336-2426 or (814) 337-0444, or register by e-mail at kedwards@state.pa.us.
Upon successful completion of the course, the agency will require a processing fee for a Basic Boating Safety Card, if one is desired.
