A mature bald eagle took a tour of Presque Isle Bay on Monday afternoon, but didn't stick around long.
It came from the south, from the general direction of Summit Township, and took two spins around the open waters of the bay about 2:30 p.m. before flying back in the precise direction from which it came and disappearing into the treeline.
It would be great luck if it were one of the eagles that has nested at the peninsula the past two years, but of course it could just have been a day visitor. There was no visible activity Sunday or Monday at the existing nest on Presque Isle State Park.
