19:12 -- The Erie Otters wasted no time jumping on top of London tonight at Tullio Arena. Neither did Justin Hodgman, as he opened the scoring with his seventh goal in the past seven games and 18th of the season at the 48-second mark. He capitalized on a great pass from Ryan O'Reilly, who recorded his 30th assist of the season, which leads the team and ranks among the top 10 in the OHL.
10:19 -- The Otters' penalty kill appeared unbeatable again ... that is, until Knights winger Daniel Erlich fired a wrist through a crowd and past goaltender Shane Owen to tie the score at 1. Zac Rinaldo assisted on the goal in his Knights' debut, a day after being acquired from Mississauga.
6:22 -- Rinaldo netted his second assist on Erlich's second goal, as Erlich slid a rebound inside the post for a 2-1 Knights' lead - on only their fourth shot on goal of the game.
4:50 -- The Otters earned their second power play of the period, as Knights winger Jason Wilson was penalized for interference. But on the ensuing face-off, Otters captain Zack Torquato headed to the penalty box for the same infraction.
3:02 -- Andrew Yogan had the tying goal on his stick with only Knights goaltender Trevor Cann in his way. But as Yogan attempted to deke to his backhand, the puck slid off his stick and towards the board.
1:05 -- Yogan's miss proved critical, because two minutes later Jared Knight scored to extend the Knights' lead to 3-1. That's three goals on eight shots against Owen - could Jaroslav Janus' night off end abruptly? Janus, who played for Slovakia in the IIHF World Junior Championship, didn't arrive in Erie until earlier today, because his flight from Detroit on Tuesday was cancelled.
