UPDATE: Former Otter Kidd likely not returning to Erie

The Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned defenseman Brett Bellemore from Albany (AHL) to Plymouth, the OHL's Whalers announced today. But don't expect former Erie Otters defenseman Josh Kidd to rejoin the club as an overager this season.
Mark Guy, Kidd's agent with Newport Sports Management Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario, said tonight that he expects Kidd to remain in Manchester (N.H.), the Los Angeles Kings' AHL affiliate, the rest of the season. In fact, Guy said, he hasn't conducted discussions with Kings' officials in the past month.
Like Bellemore, who was limited to six games in Albany (N.Y.) because of injuries, Kidd has played sparingly in Manchester. He has dressed for 17-of-37 games, because the club has seven defensemen on the roster. However, Kidd has played more lately, Guy said, because one defenseman played in the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship.
He has dressed for the club's past 11 games. Kidd has one goal, three points, a minus-5 rating and six penalty minutes this season. He had one goal, four points, a plus-9 rating and no penalty minutes in nine games last season.
