OK, I finally got it together enough to compile what I think is a complete list of volunteers that I owe much thanks to. Here they are:
* Dorothy Krupa and all the Presque Isle State Park rangers
* SafeNet volunteers — Ann Dunlap, Linda King, Rick Liebel, Linda Martz and Dennis Weber
* Erie Times-News volunteers — Sheila Coon, Liz Swantek and Lisa Frampton.
* Saint Vincent Health Center's Shannon Vance (who did race warm-ups for us)
* Erie Runners Club volunteers —
Dan Albaugh,
Patricia Albaugh,
Joe Bruce,
Dan Cass (my dear husband),
Phoebe Clemente,
Dave Comi (my dear co-director),
Rick Godzwa,
Larry Kisielewski (aka DJ Kelly),
Julie Koehler,
Carolyn Koscelnik,
Ron Krystek,
Natalie Laniewicz,
Frank Mainzer,
Joan Mainzer,
Clarence Mason,
Diane O’Brien,
Marykaye Pazder,
Sara Rose,
Carol Sassman,
Jean Stevens,
Mike Vieyra
and
My knight-in-a-wet-ERC-windbreaker (who wishes to remain anonymous) who rode to the rescue of a nervous damsel/race director in distress.
* Mary and the gang at Creative Imprint who printed our great race t-shirts and finisher's ribbons.
* I should also thank my bosses and all the powers-that-be at the Erie Times-News who gave me the time, resources and a slight shove to make one of my wild, 3 a.m. ideas come true. I remember telling Marnie back in November of 2005, "Hey, you know I was thinking that we should do a woman's race...wouldn't that be cool?" Next thing I knew, Boss-man Rick says "So, when's the race?" I thought, Oh ... OK, so now I guess I have to walk the walk (or run the run).
It was cool though, wasn't it?
