The 2007 ERC Turkey Trot is going down in history as the biggest Trot ever with more than 1,700 people taking part in the 10K or 5K.
It got off to a late start -- delayed about a 1/2 hour (probably due to the chip line), but it was still a blast. The weather was perfect. Well, OK...it could have been warmer, but, it wasn't blizzard-conditions like some previous years.
I had another P.R. I am smokin' this year. My secret? Well, I don't know for sure, but it could be because I've been running on an incline on my treadmill (which is something that I've never done before) and I'm also in a new (tougher) age group -- which means I have to run harder and faster just to keep up.

The after party at Rainbow Gardens was great -- plenty of room for everyone to sit and chat -- much better than the fire hall we've used the last several years. We've definitely outgrown that little hall.
Awards were cool -- foldable chairs with the ERC logo. I used mine yesterday while sitting in my driveway enjoying the 60 degree weather and watching the kids ride bikes. Ah....if only this weather could last all year!
Next ERC race coming up is the Snoflake 5K on Dec. 9th at Presque Isle. More info on that is available here: http://erie-runnersclub.org/snowflake/info_2006.php
There's also a 5K Race (on the bayfront, I believe) being run by the Arthritis Association -- this Saturday. More info. on that race is available here: http://erie-runnersclub.org/RaceInfo/upcoming_events_view_detail.php?eventID=305
These runs are a great way to stay fit and keep in the holiday spirit -- rain, sun, snow or sleet!
