I just finished reading a really inspirational little book that would make a great stocking stuffer for any women runners on your list. "Sole Sisters: Stories of Women and Running" by Jennifer Lin and Susan Warner is a compilation of essays about "runners of all ages, from all walks of life and parts of the country who have one thing in common: Running has transformed them."
Contributors range from world-class runners like Joan Nesbit Mabe and Grete Waitz to nuns, stay-at-home moms and 9-11 widows.
Some of the essays will make you laugh, some will make you cry, all will inspire you to take your running (and even your life) to the next level.
