I wrote about this waaaaaayyyy back when I started this blog last year, but in the interest of serving new readers and encouraging you to try a new route or two, I'm repeating myself.
Runners tend to come up with a route or two (or three) and stick with them, but it is really fun to change things up once in a while. When you're on your feet you see things you never notice in a car, but figuring out new routes can be a pain and then you have to go drive it to find out the mileage.
Except you don't -- have to drive the route -- you can figure it out without leaving your computer chair.
Check out www.mapmyrun.com where you can lay out new routes virtually and the site does all the mile calculations for you. You can even save your favorite routes and e-mail them to running friends.
