I receive a daily e-newsletter from www.HungryGirl.com -- a fun online fitness site. The newsletter has all kinds of useful food and exercise-related info. They share recipes, review and rate new "healthy" foods and generally encourage readers to make better food choices.
Yesterday's newsletter contained some useful links that I thought I'd pass along to you:
* www.CalorieKing.com can help you find out how many calories, fat grams, carbs and more are in pretty much any food you can come up with. They even give overall averages on generic items (like a tuna sandwich).
* At www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/jumpsite/calculat.htm can help you calculate how many calories you burn based on your specific weight for more than 200 activities. You even get to see them all as one giant list so you can compare the activities (i.e. you can see how much more you can burn if you step up your run/walk a bit more).
* www.calorielab.com is another site thta can help you count how many calories you burn.
* www.ivillage.com offers a variety of health calculators that can help you determine how many calories you need to eat in a day, what your ideal weight is and what your BMI is. Here's a direct path to the calculators (copy & paste into your browser): http://diet.ivillage.com/quiz/0,,810slb2d,00.html
* Two great -- AND FREE -- sites that can help you keep track of your food, exercise and weight loss goals are: www.fitday.com and www.thedailyplate.com. (I am SO canceling my paid subscription to www.myfooddiary.com!)
