Kudos to Dr. Dan Young -- an Erie chiropractor, father and avid athlete -- who recently took 10th place in the Laurel Highlands ultra -- a 70.5 (yes, SEVENTY POINT FIVE) mile race.
Dr. Young, 47, finished the race in 15:11:19 (15 HOURS, 11 MINUTES and 19 SECONDS). He was the 10th person in overall (out of 70 finishers) and the 8th man in.

I've been to Dr. Young several times in the past years to have him put my parts back in place. He was also a great help to me when I had a nasty case of knots in my legs that required deep tissue massage (i.e. excruciatingly painful, but effective).
As a runner, I like going to doctors who are runners because they are more familiar with runner's injuries and issues. And, more importantly, they "get it" and they understand that even minor layoffs are more than just physical -- they can wreak havoc in our heads as well. They know how we think.
Though, really, I'm not sure what Dr. Young was thinking running a 70.5 mile race.
He is one bad-ass chiropractor!
