I'm not sure how many participated in last night's East Erie Moose Club 5K run/walk, but..it looked to be about 60 or so. I happily plopped down on a blanket next to the finish line and watched as my comrades came sweating over the finish line.
The course record -- set by Eric Soder of Harborcreek -- was broken. A new record of 15:30-something was set by...well, uh...I don't know -- I'm calling him Mr. Fast Pants. Here's his photo:

The first woman was my friend and fellow-mom, Sandy Sweet (a woman who lives up to her last name) who finished in 20-something, I think.
Yeah, I know what you're thinking..It's a good thing I'm not a sports reporter, eh? Because "Mr. Fast Pants" and a "20-something" finish time isn't quite cutting it, but...I go to the races to socialize and, well, there were a bunch of people blocking my view of the finish line clock.
Here's Sandy tearing up the roads:

There didn't appear to be many day-of-race registrations and the hot, humid weather probably had everything to do with that. It's unfortunate because it is a nice little race and you're rewarded with food, drinks and a cool place (the Moose Club social hall) to eat them.
