Track workouts on Tuesdays

The track workouts that I wrote about in an earlier blog are still on Tuesday nights -- at the McDowell track. They warm up at 5:30 and run at 6 p.m.

If you're interested in getting faster (and/or making some new friends), I encourage you to show up, introduce yourself and join the gang. If I'm not mistaken the workout leader is Fred Beckwith -- the toughest, strongest, coolest guy over 55 that you will ever meet. He's also a really nice and friendly guy.

They run a variety of speedwork drills -- they'll tell you exactly what to do -- how many times to run around the track fast and how many times to run slow in between. It's an informal and non-competitive workout session in a group atmosphere.

All abilities welcome!

For more information, call Fred 825-0721.
