Log it -- for free

This is cool!

For years I've been buying spiral-bound training logs and dutifully recording my workouts (OK, honestly, I rarely write more than the mileage, i.e. "5 mile run, 2 mile walk at lunch"). I've never found them all that useful, but I always felt I should keep one.

However, Runners World magazine has just debuted a new online training log at their Web site. that might actually be quite useful to me.

Not only does it track your workout (and I must say, it's pretty easy to use...except I can't figure out the time format...it doesn't like anything I put in there), but it also keeps track of your Personal Record race times and how many miles your running shoes have on them!

They've also incorporated a really cool map interface that allows you to create running routes and check mileage before (or after) you run. I was thrilled to find this in here since I've been having such difficulty with www.mapmyrun.com (losing routes, not being able to see the maps, etc.).

Best of all - it's FREE! You must, of course, create and account, but..I promise you this little program is worth adding another login and password to your list.
