Did you know there's now a local (well, Meadville, but...still...) running specialty shop? Achilles Running Shop, 18474 Smock Highway, Meadville, is celebrating it's Grand Opening with special sales starting Black Friday.
Co-owner, Becky Eby, spoke @ the ERC meeting last week (and let me tell you, the woman can run...just check out the results from the '07 Her Times 5K). She handed out a flyer that said they have everyday specials of 20% off all Insport Apparel and 15% off all accessories.
You can also trade in your Asics shoes for another brand and receive 20% off your new shoe purchase (traded in shoes are donated to charity).
They offer free gait analysis to help you understand your foot type and what shoes you need.
Grand Opening week specials include:
Fri., 11/23; Sat., 11/24 & Sun., 11/25 -- 15% off Brooks shoes & apparel
Mon., 11/26 -- $10 off $50 or more Mizuno purchase

I shop at this store in Mentor, Ohio and it is a wonderful place! It's so nice to have people wait on you who actually know something about running, rather than some person just working at a chain sports store, who only knows to go in the back and find the right size shoe for you to try. If you're serious about running or even just a casual runner, you are bound to love this store. Have them conduct the gait analysis on you. It's fast and easy to do and will allow the store staff to determine exactly what the best type of shoe is for you to wear. Now that I've gone to Achille's, I don't shop anywhere else for shoes.
