We've been doing battle with the flu at our house this week. It's made the rounds, starting with our 4-year-old on Saturday, moving to the 6-year-old on Monday and now onto the 37-year-old husband on Tuesday.
Despite taking care of everyone and cleaning up endless messes, I haven't come down with it, yet (knock on wood). I've always attributed my immunity (or perhaps not immunity, but my body's ability to fight off germs) to my running habit.
A recent article in Runner's World magazine's E-newsletter suggests I may be right. Running makes you stronger, inside and out (provided you don't go overboard).
Of course, now that I've blogged this and bragged about my body's ability to kick the crap out of cold and flu bugs, I'm sure karma will pay me back with 24 hours of gastrointestinal misery.
Here's another great article (also from Runner's World) about colds and running.
