So my friend and colleague Pam Parker asked me to write a story about gadgets for Lake Erie Lifestyle magazine because she spotted the Nike +iPod Sport Kit in the store.

I warned her that I'd never used the Nike +iPod thing because I don't wear Nikes (You will pry my Sauconys off my cold, dead feet), but then...I start doing the research and found out...I don't need the Nikes! Because, of course, there's someone out there ready to eat Nike's lunch (a few manufacturers actually) who create little cases that attach to your shoe to hold the chip (that fits right into the "special" Nike shoes).

After I read all about the product and read the reviews on Amazon, I, of course, had to order the darn thing.

I'll let you know if it lives up to the hype.
