Fahey/Ferko Memorial Run/Walk

There's a new race in town -- well, in Harborcreek, actually -- the Fahey/Ferko Memorial Run/Walk that is being put on by the Harborcreek Youth Services, 5712 Iroquois Ave.

The event, to be held Sat., Sept. 20, includes a 10K run division and a 5K walk division. The race is being held in memory of Father James Fahey, a long-time agency administrator at HYS and Rick Ferko, who dedicated his life to serving troubled youth (Rick was also and ERC member and long-time race director of the Presque Isle Endurance Classic).

Entry fee is $15 and proceeds will benefit the HYS's new Spartans football team. The Erie Times-News just did a great cover story (with online video) on about the Spartans. You can read it here.

More information and the application can be found here.
