Rest before racing

This is a hard concept for me. (OK, resting, in general, is a hard concept for me.) But resting before racing is essential if you want to have fresh legs and a good race time.

Sunday is the Hamot 10K which means I "shouldn't" run tomorrow. But, it's going to be a beautiful day and I have the whole day to myself and the thought of not running on a beautiful Saturday when I have all day to run is just...annoying.

Isn't it funny how we come to rely on running so much that we don't know what to do with ourselves when we have to take a day off?

I guess I'll have to turn to my backup plan and hit the 7 a.m. Early Bird sales at the mall.

Here are some other thoughts on the rest-before-racing topic.
