If you're registered to participate in the Her Times 5K this Saturday, try and stop by the Erie Times News (205 W. 12th St.) this Friday & pick up your race packet, t-shirt and race number early.

If you pick up early...you need only show up at the start line by 9 a.m. on Saturday...no standing in registration lines that morning.

If you are planning to participate, but still need to register, we'll be doing that on Friday as well. It's advantageous for you to register at that time (as opposed to day-of-race registration) because there's a chance you still might be able to get a shirt (I doubt those who register day-of-race will...though, I think I'm going to order & mail them) AND....you don't have to wait in any lines on race day morning.

Early packet pick-up is FRIDAY from NOON to 1 P.M. and 4 to 6 p.m (only). Please come between those hours or....I may not be here (and the employees here do not know how to do registration). As you might imagine...I have some running around to do on Friday! :-) So...come on lunch or between 4 and 6 p.m.

We have about 360 women and children registered now.

If you've registered for babysitting (you must have preregistered for that!) -- your kids are in for a treat -- www.ErieMoms.com is sponsoring our kid's events and activities and they've hired Captain Magic to entertain while mommy runs.

Babysitting will be held in a corner (or probably half) of the Rotary Pavilion. It will be crowded in there before the race, but...once we get started..the place clears out & they'll be plenty of room for all the kids, the sitters and the Captain.

Babysitting hours are 8:45 a.m. to 10:05 a.m. Our babysitting staff is also helping at the kid's races...so we need to give them time to get cleaned up & over there.

7 to 8:45 a.m. -- Late registration
9 a.m. -- 5K start
9:30 to 10:10 -- Common Ground performance troupe
10:15 -- Kid's races
10:30 -- Awards ceremony
