Blast from the past

Here's a fun photo an old running friend sent me.

Recognize any of these folks? I can name a few. The man in yellow is my dear old dad, Joe Bruce. Kneeling on the far right is Pat Bruno and the guy in the brown sweater behind my dad is Steve Lynch.

My fondest memory of Steve Lynch (he used to work at the paper): It was a snowy day & he asked me if I'd run that morning. I told him I ran on the treadmill. His response? "Are you kidding me? Get yourself a Gore Tex suit and get outside you candy ass."

To this day, "candy ass" is one of my favorite phrases...and I think of Steve every time I call someone a candy ass. Of course....Steve retired and moved his candy ass down to the nice, warm south so...

:-)

chuck:

The gentleman kneeling directly to the right of your dad is John Petroff. John was quite the runner and was featured in Runners World as being an age group holder in several categories. I believe he started running at the age of 63.
