RiverRats go to work for SIDS awareness

The Erie RiverRats will recognize Spring for SIDS Day on Friday when they host the Baltimore Mariners in an AIFA game at Tullio Arena.

The RiverRats are participating in an event coordinated by Grady's Grace, a local fundraising organization for the national awareness day sponsored by the American SIDS Institute. The organization is dedicated to the prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and promotion of infant health through research, education and family support.

Grady's Grace is offering vouchers redeemable for tickets to the 7 p.m. game at the Tullio Arena box office. The cost of each voucher is $12. The 'Rats will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these vouchers to the American SIDS Institute.

During the game, there will be an auction for original artwork donated by sports artist Kevin-John Jobczynski as well as autographed AIFA footballs by the entire RiverRats team and coaching staff. The Rat Pack team fan club will donate a portion of proceeds from its 50-50 promotion to the Institute.

To purchase a voucher or to learn more about Grady's Grace and the American SIDS Institute, e-mail either john@eriesportsfans.com or jen@gradysgrace.com, or write to Grady's Grace, 21600 Spartansburg Highway, Corry, PA 16407.
