Student-athletes from many of northwestern Pennsylvania's colleges are voluntarily taking part this year in a project to put the fan one step closer to the field.
College Connection will feature a recurring series of entries at the Erie Times-News Sports blog from student-athletes in various sports. Entries will start with the authors' biographies, then take off in the direction each athlete desires, from on-field performance to off-field life.
Today, meet Chris Moore, a senior golfer for Allegheny College.
Moore, a Mercyhurst Prep graduate and Erie native, is a Political Science major and Religious studies minor. He's rounding out what's been an all-star career at Allegheny.
As a junior, Moore averaged 78.13 in 16 rounds and finished top 10 in three tournaments. He played 20 rounds in his all-NCAC sophomore season, when he averaged 78.45 strokes and was in the top 10 four times. As a freshman, Moore won the Phil Mickelson Award as top freshman in NCAA Division III and was a third-team All-American.
He's the son of Aimee and John Moore.
