Kaka picks Milan over money

Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration on Tuesday cost close to $150 million.

Big deal!

Brazilian star soccer player Kaka could have cost twice that.

Kaka rejected a record $297 million transfer offer from England’s Manchester City to leave Italy’s AC Milan.

The Italian club says money isn’t everything to Kaka, the 2007 FIFA world player of the year.

Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, who also happens to own AC Milan (think Ted Turner), apparently simply had to give Kaka a hug to stay in Milan.

This is soooooo un-American on so many levels.

I mean, I guarantee baseball super agent Scott Boras will never have a client like this. Boras would never let one of his players “put the values of the club, friendship and fans' affection above all else.”

Also, just how many American sports owners must leave Middle East peace talks in order to talk their star player into staying with their team?
