Charity Sports Banquet tickets nearly gone

Fewer than one dozen tickets remain for the 45th annual Charity Sports Banquet Feb. 12 at the Bel-Aire Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 2800 W. Eighth St., Erie.

Tickets are $75 each and may be purchased at the Bel-Aire or by calling the hotel at 833-1116.

Former Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Hanratty will be the main speaker.

Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Shaun Smith, running back Jerome Harrison and defensive back Brodney Pool also are scheduled to take part, along with Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan, former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jerry Butler — now the Browns’ director of player development — and Pitt fullback Conredge Collins.

McDowell quarterback A.J. Fenton will be honored as the Class AAAA player of the year, and Strong Vincent quarterback Deonte Fleming as the Class AAA athlete of the year.
