Scouting Mercyhurst: After opening the season 1-8-1, the Lakers have gone 13-5-2. Since Jan. 1, Mercyhurst is 7-3-1. ... Mercyhurst’s 2-0 and 6-2 home wins against American International last weekend completed a four-game season series sweep of the Yellow Jackets. ... Senior F Brett Robinson had four assists against AIC in the 6-2 win. ... Mercyhurst took care of UConn at the Mercyhurst Ice Center Jan. 23-24, winning 7-2 and 6-0. ... Junior F Chris Risi is expected to return to the lineup after missing the past five games with a knee injury. ... Mercyhurst killed all 14 AIC power-play attempts. ... Junior D Matt Fennell rejoined the team for the AIC games after missing several games with a knee injury he suffered in December. ... The Lakers should have junior F Chris Risi back. He missed five games with a knee injury.

Scouting UConn: The Huskies lost twice to Air Force this past week, 3-2 and 4-1, extending their losing streak to four games. ... UConn has lost six of its past seven and is 2-13-1 in its past 16 games. ... The Huskies are ninth in the 10-team conference with 11 points. ... Sophomore F Jason Krispel leads the team with 21 points (2 goals, 19 assists), followed by freshman F Marcello Ranallo with 19 points and junior F Chris Ochoa with 17 points. ... Junior G Beau Erickson is 5-19-1 with a 3.94 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage. ... UConn is 4-6-1 at home. ... The Huskies average 2.1 goals per game and allow 3.9.
