Sports schedule for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009

Welcome to the playoffs.

The District 10 basketball postseason opens tonight with Class AAAA and Class AAA games scheduled in Erie, Edinboro and Sharon. Franklin, one of the teams in the AAA playoffs, is under a 2-hour school delay today because of the weather. Check www.GoErie.com and www.erieweather.com throughout the day for updates and conditions.

For the NHL fan, new coach Dan Bylsma and the Pittsburgh Penguins take on Montreal in a must-win, and the surging Buffalo Sabres visit Philadelphia in what's sure to be a rough-and-tumble game.
