The Lonely Linkster

Good to be back after a week and a half of rehab after some work to have a cyst removed from my face (It didn't improve my mug either) Great work by Dr. Kang but it wasn't a lot of fun. No sweating for a few days, had to take anti-biotics, pretty much laid up for the better part of a week. Finally, last Monday, I had the chance to hit the golf course before I had to have my stitches removed and get back to the grind of work. One thing I realized, we are lucky to have so many golf courses in our area. Since it was a spur of the moment decision, I just had to find a place to walk-on, no tee-time, just me. I had my pick living on the east side of Erie County. Would it be Gospel Hill, Green Meadows, Downing, Harbor Ridge, Scenic Heights, all within about a 15 minute drive or shorter from my home. I don't think you could find many places around with that kind of golf access to public courses, with reasonable green fees and the chance to just walk-on and play, which I did at Gospel Hill. Most of the time, you need to make tee-times hours or days in advance, or at the very least, show up and hope you can hook up with another group. And it's nice to play by yourself once in a while since you can work on different shots, take your time, enjoy the day and the sport. It was a good way to end the week of rehab before getting back to work. Don't forget, football season is not that far away.
