What a catchy title to this entry. Anyhow, while out on a walk in the wilderness with the family we came across several wooly bears, or wooly worms (pick your preference). There is some weather folklore that says these little fuzz balls can predict what type of winter you are going to have.
They tell you this information with their brown stripe. The thicker the brown, the milder the winter.

You can see, by the big brown, stripe, that this wooly bear is predicting a mild winter for the area.
Our random sample of wooly bears showed that the consensus is, among the wooly bears, is that we are in for a mild winter.
I have had phone calls to the contrary, where viewers have said their wooly bears have had a lot of black. While there is no scientific backing to this folklore, we want to see pictures of your wooly worms. Send them to weather@wsee.tv and we'll see what they say. My personal belief is that the big brown stripe is what is fashionable this fall season among the wooly bears.
