POSSIBLE BIRTH TO BERTHA

PossibleBirtha.gif

While the world is on the "Brangelina Baby Watch", the Storm Team is watching something a little more significant. A tropical wave off the Cape Verde Islands may have the conditions needed to help it develop into something bigger over the next couple of days. This could become the second named storm in the Atlantic this year. If that is the case, it will be named Birtha.

The Cape Verde Islands are known for being a region where these tropical waves develop, and eventually become tropical storms and hurricans. This is usually the case, however, later in the season.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

WSEE Storm Team Meteorologist
