TROPICS BLOWING UP

The tropics have become very active. At the time of this posting, we have three active tropical storms, one of which was a hurricane at one point (Hanna). Another former huricane (Gustav) is still considered a tropical depression.

Here is a breakdown from the image above:

1. Gustav: Now a tropical depression

2. Hanna: Now a Tropical Storm

3. Ike: Named a Tropical Storm Last Night

4. Josephine: just named a Tropical Storm today

The biggest threat to the United states right now is Hanna. This tropical storm will again become a hurricane and move towards the southeastern poritions of the U.S.

Ike appears to want to follow in her footsteps, as this storm will probably become a hurricane, and hit the areas being effected by Hanna today.

Josephine will proabably sustain "tropical storm" status into the weekend. As for Gustav, it will continue to die out. Some of that moisture may make its way into the Erie area for the weekend.
