Five D-10 AAA wrestlers secure medals

HERSHEY -- Cathedral Prep semifinalist Nick Milano and four other District 10 wrestlers locked up medals Friday afternoon at the PIAA Class AAA wrestling tournament at Giant Center.

Milano beat Cumberland Valley's Mike Evans 5-4 to reach the 160-pound semifinals.

Four others won second-round consolation bouts to secure top-eight finishes.

Cathedral Prep's Rocco Wellek (125), Conneaut Lake's Matt Laird (135) and Cash Horne (140) and Strong Vincent's DeAndre Bell (215) will wrestle consolation matches Saturday morning to determine their finish. All four can finish anywhere from third through eighth.

Milano is assured of a top-six finish.

The five medalists are the most for D-10 in Class AAA since 2004.
