Oil City newcomer unlikely AA diving finalist

District 10 didn’t have a medalist in Friday's Class AA girls 1-meter diving competition. But it did have an unexpected entry in the championship rounds.
Oil City sophomore Amy Dorow survived the cut twice and placed 13th with 335.15 points. Dorow outlasted returning state qualifiers Brittany DiSanti of Harbor Creek and Jacquelyn Kerr of Titusville.
“There were a lot of nerves, but this was fun,” Dorow said. “I just wanted to make it to the finals and that’s what I did.”
DiSanti, the district champion, finished 18th with an even 239 points. The junior finished 12th last season at Lewisburg.
Kerr never recovered after she slipped on her first attempt and failed to score. The Rockets senior bowed out in 22nd with 127.75 points
