Cathedral Prep, McDowell start 6-1

As usual, the Cathedral Prep-McDowell baseball rivalry appears to be an evenly matched one this season.
Both teams have opened at 6-1. The first showdown between the two will take place a week from today, April 18, when the teams play under the lights at Jerry Uht Park at 7 p.m. The Ramblers and Trojans also will close the regular season with a night game at Jerry Uht Park on May 14.
McDowell opened the season by winning its first six games before losing to reigning District 10 Class AAA champion Hickory 4-3 Thursday.
Prep, which beat Titusville 13-6 Thursday, suffered its only loss of the season against Mt. Dora High School, 5-4, in Orlando, Fla., on March 24.
