Conneaut Valley tightens Region 2 softball standings

Suddenly, the Cambridge Springs softball team is reeling.

The Blue Devils' 12-0 start has given way to a two-game losing streak. The second came Tuesday, when Conneaut Valley rallied for a 4-2 victory that kept the Indians in contention for a District 10 Class A playoff berth.

Amanda Mahoney's two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning capped a three-run rally for Conneaut Valley, which moved to 9-4 overall and within the region. Cambridge Springs, which lost a non-region game to Warren on Saturday, dropped to 12-1 in the region.
