Fort LeBoeuf deals with injuries to freshman contributors

The Fort LeBoeuf softball team, now 9-4 overall and 8-4 in Region 3, could end the season with losses to only Villa Maria and Iroquois and still not make the Class AA playoffs.
That is only part of the Bisons' problems.
Two key freshman infielders, Taylor Welch and Allison Litz, suffered season-ending injuries.
Welch was hitting .500 with four doubles, two homers and a triple when she injured her elbow in a 1-0 loss to Iroquois on April 25.
Litz played only seven games before a shin injury put her on the bench. Her numbers included a .300 average with one double and one triple.
