McDowell takes Region 2 tennis title

The McDowell boys tennis team claimed the Region 2 title Monday with a 3-2 victory over Cathedral Prep at Frontier Park.
The Trojans also established themselves as the favorite to win the District 10 Class AAA team title.
McDowell (14-1, 10-0) swept the singles matches as Landon Williams, Chris Galvin and Kevin Ricart all posted straight-set wins.
The Ramblers (9-2, 9-1) received doubles wins from the teams of Jeff Demjanenko-Alex Kanonczyk and Gary Pasqualicchio-Pat Gordon.
McDowell had beaten Prep 4-1 on April 22 in non-region dual.
