It’s been an amazing week for Iroquois softball pitcher Lindsey Phillips.
She started the week with a four-hitter in an 8-0 win over Seneca in Region 3 play Monday. She struck out 15 in that game.
Phillips followed with a two-hitter and seven more strikeouts Wednesday in a 1-0 win against a solid Northwestern team.
Friday she had capped her week with another 15-strikeout performance in a 1-0 victory over third-place Fort LeBoeuf. She tossed a two-hitter this time.
For the week, Phillips went 3-0 with no runs allowed in 21 innings pitched. She struck out 37 and walked — get this — none. She allowed eight total hits, all singles.
Her efforts helped the second-place Braves move to 11-1 overall and 10-1 in the region.
