There was a rare occurrence in District 10 softball Friday -- not one but two doubleheaders in Region 3.
District 10 softball teams rarely play doubleheaders, but Friday Fairview played Youngsville twice and North East played Eisenhower twice.
Both doubleheaders were set up to accommodate makeup games from earlier rainouts. Because both Eisenhower and Youngsville are a good distance from Erie County, school officials decided to play doubleheaders rather than schedule an extra trip for the teams.
By the way, Eisenhower swept North East 11-6 and 12-8, while Fairview swept Youngsville 2-1 and 6-3.
