Softball players turn in big games

Here are some top performances by District 10 softball players this week:
Batting

4-2-3-1, by Northwestern's Whitney Snyder in a 5-2 win over Fairview
3-1-2-5, by North East's Jordan Artise in a 15-0 win over Girard
4-2-3-0, double by Villa Maria's Michelle Murphy in a 6-2 win over Iroquois
4-4-3-3, by Cambridge Springs' Stephanie Baer in a 16-0 win over Linesville
4-2-3-4, triple by Cambridge Springs' Kristen Humes in a 16-0 win over Linesville
4-5-3-3, double by Northwestern's Amanda Caraballo in a 31-4 win over Seneca
6-4-4-3, by Northwestern's Whitney Snyder in a 31-4 win over Seneca
4-0-3-6, by Northwestern's Danelle Soltis in a 31-4 win over Seneca
3-0-3-2, double by Union City's Carrie Williams in a 16-0 win over Commodore Perry
Pitching
ip-h-r-er-bb-k
7-2-0-0-1-13 by Cambridge Springs' Stephanie Baer in a 1-0 win over Conneaut Valley
5-0-0-0-2-2 by North East's Riki Turri in a 15-0 win over Girard
7-2-0-0-0-17 by Strong Vincent's Stacie Balkovic in a 1-0 win over Mercyhurst Prep
4-2-0-0-1-10 by Cambridge Springs' Stephanie Baer in a 16-0 win over Linesville

Line of the week: Baer had a huge game with her bat and arm against Linesville, but Balkovic's 17-strikeout effort vs. Mercyhurst gets my vote.
