Mostoller edges Ferrick in long jump

Reynolds' Kara Mostoller won a highly competive duel with Fort LeBoeuf's Jessica Ferrick in the D-10 Class AA long jump today.
Mostoller won the event with a jump of 17-4½, and Ferrick placed second in 17-2 ½. (The state-qualifying mark was 16-11.) It was the second straight year that Mostoller and Ferrick finished 1-2 in the event.
Meanwhile, Grove City’s Kristy Woods repeated as the champion in both the shot put (44-5) and discus (132-4). Hickory's Emily Woods placed second in both events.
