McDowell finishes off Prep

Alex Schmude rushed for 202 yards, and A.J. Fenton ran for 158 yards and four touchdowns while passing for another TD as McDowell opened the season with a 43-23 rout of Cathedral Prep on Friday at Veterans Stadium.

This will be the final matchup between the rivals this season. McDowell will play eight WPIAL teams and then head for the District 10 Class AAAA playoffs. Prep has dropped to Class AAA this season, so there will be no playoff rematch.
