McDowell to face top talent vs. Gateway

The McDowell football team will play eight WPIAL teams this season, and during that span the Trojans will face plenty of talented players.

But on Oct. 10 at Gus Anderson Field, McDowell will have to deal with two of the top five players in the state, according to the Pittsburgh Sports Report. On that night, the Trojans will host Gateway’s Dorian Bell and Corey Brown, both of whom have committed to Ohio State, the Web site reported.

Bell is a 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker whom the Pittsburgh Sports Report ranked as the top recruit in the state and a top 20 recruit nationally.

Brown, ranked No. 5 in the state, is an all-purpose back who might play cornerback or wide receiver at OSU.

Any fans who can’t make it to that game can still see it if they have a DVR. The McDowell-Gateway game will be televised live on PCN. A couple of replays also are scheduled.
