Colonels state their case for state polls

Strong Vincent’s defensive performance vs. Cathedral Prep wasn’t enough to boost the Colonels into first place in this week’s Harrisburg Patriot-News Class AAA state poll.

Vincent (4-0) was second to WPIAL power Thomas Jefferson despite a 40-14 victory over the Ramblers last Friday at Veterans Stadium. The Colonels limited Prep to 30 yards in total offense and no first downs until midway through the third quarter.

Vincent remained first in the Pennsylvania Football News AAA poll. The Colonels play 1-3 Warren on Saturday at the Vet.

Class AA Wilmington was the only other District 10 team listed in the top 10 by those organizations. The Greyhounds (4-0) were ranked fifth by Harrisburg and ninth by PFN.

Wilmington visits 1-2 Hickory on Saturday in a Region 3 game.
