Prep, McDowell soccer teams fit to be untied

Tuesday’s 7:30 p.m. game between the Cathedral Prep and McDowell soccer teams won’t be their first this season.

But it could produce their first goal.

The Ramblers and Trojans played to a 0-0 final when they met at Veterans Stadium on Sept. 11. Prep goalkeeper Mitchell Mack and McDowell goalie Chris Fanzini were responsible for the scoreless tie.

If today’s game at Gus Anderson Field produces a winner, that team likely will claim the Region 4 title. Both are 7-0-1 in region play.

Prep, which competed in the Gateway City Soccer Classic outside St. Louis last weekend, enters the game at 9-3-1 overall. McDowell is 10-2-1.
