The Mercyhurst Prep girls tennis team will have payback on its mind in a rematch with Greensburg Central Catholic.

The Centurions upset the Lakers 3-2 in the first round of the 2007 PIAA Class AA team tournament. Mercyhurst seeks to avenge that loss when the schools meet again Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Pennbriar Athletic Club.

In Class AAA, McDowell (11-7) will play North Allegheny in another first round rematch from last season. The Trojans have never won a match in their previous four appearances of the team tournament.

The Lakers (13-0) won the District 10 team title with a 4-1 victory over Grove City. Tuesday’s winner will advance to the AA quarterfinals against Harriton or York Catholic.

McDowell received the AAA district trophy with a walkover of Central Tech. The McDowell-North Allegheny winner will face either Abington or Wilson Area in the AAA quarters.

The remaining rounds of the PIAA team tournaments will take place Friday and Saturday at the Hershey Racquet Club.
