Wilmington coach makes history

Wilmington football coach Terry Verrelli became the all-time winningest coach in Mercer County history Saturday.

Verrelli earned win No. 223 as the Greyhounds defeated Hickory 53-7. He passed retired Greenville coach Bob Stone’s mark of 222.

Girard coach Mina George is the all-time winningest coach in Erie County history with 222 wins.

J.B. Leidig has the District 10 record for career wins with 270 while he coached Warren from 1912-51.
