Zimmer goal gives Prep win over McDowell

Cathedral Prep senior Andrew Zimmer scored the lone goal in the Ramblers’ 1-0 victory over McDowell on Tuesday at Gus Anderson Field. Zimmer, in his first extensive action as a midfielder, beat Trojans’ goalkeeper Chris Fanzini on a low shot from right side of the box 2 minutes, 7 seconds into the second half.

Prep goalie Mitchell Mack made the goal hold up for his second shutout against McDowell this season. The Ramblers improved to 10-3-1 overall and took the lead in Region 4 at 8-0-1.

McDowell (10-3-1, 7-1-1) saw its nine-game winning streak come to an end.
