Strong Vincent (11-0) and Cathedral Prep (7-4) will play for the District 10 Class AAA title Friday night at Veterans Stadium. (Live blog updates will be provided on the Varsity blog.)
This is the first year that Prep will play in any enrollment classification other than the biggest one. The Ramblers, who dropped to Class AAA during the offseason, had won the past three D-10 Class AAAA championships. (There is no Quad-A title game this year, as McDowell advances directly to a PIAA subregional game Saturday vs. DuBois.)
Vincent, which is making its sixth straight appearance in the Class AAA final, and Prep have fared well in D-10 title games in recent years. Here's a list of the Class AAA and Class AAAA title games since District 10 went to four classes in 1989:
